Why Newcastle Physio Solutions Exists

Most people over 40 are told their aches and pains are just part of getting older.

At Newcastle Physio Solutions we believe that isn’t true. Our goal is simple.......

Help active adults understand the real cause of their pain and create a clear plan so they can move confidently again — without the ongoing need for painkillers.

Many people are given short appointments, generic exercises, or medication to manage symptoms.

While these can help temporarily, they often don’t address the underlying cause of the pain.

That’s why many people find themselves stuck in a cycle of flare-ups and painkillers.

Why Many People Stay Stuck With Pain

Many people with back, knee or shoulder pain are given short appointments, general exercises or medication to manage the symptoms. While these can help temporarily, they don’t address the underlying cause of the problem.

That’s why many people find themselves stuck in a cycle of flare-ups and painkillers.

How Our Approach Is Different

1.

Identify the root cause.

Every patient starts with a 60-minute one-to-one assessment where we can identify exactly what is causing your problem.

2.

Create a personalized recovery plan.

We design a clear plan to help you move comfortably again.

3.

Stay active and prevent further injury.

Our goal is not just short-term relief but helping you stay active without the daily aches and pains.

Meet our Team

Ross Cairns

Senior pysiotherapist

Ross has extensive experience assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, knee pain, neck pain, shoulder problems and sports injuries. He is particularly skilled at identifying the underlying cause of pain and developing clear treatment plans to help patients move comfortably again.

Ross holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University and previously completed a degree in Sports Therapy. His background in both physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation gives him a strong understanding of how injuries develop and how to help people recover safely and effectively.

Ross has completed additional postgraduate training in areas including tendinopathies, neck pain and whiplash, mobilisation of the nervous system and acupuncture, allowing him to tailor treatment to each individual patient.

Patients value Ross’s calm and approachable manner. He takes the time to listen carefully, explain what is happening, and guide patients through a structured recovery plan so they can return to the activities they enjoy.

His goal is always the same: to help people stay active, move with confidence and overcome pain.

Abby Armstrong

Clinic Manager

Abby Armstrong is the Clinic Manager at Newcastle Physio Solutions and plays a key role in ensuring every patient has a smooth and positive experience from their very first contact with the clinic.

With over ten years’ experience managing healthcare organisations, Abby brings a strong understanding of how to create systems and processes that allow clinicians to focus on what they do best — helping patients recover.

Abby is responsible for the day-to-day running of the clinic, supporting the team and ensuring patients receive a professional, welcoming and well organised service.

She is particularly passionate about creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, supported and confident throughout their recovery journey.

Her aim is to make every patient’s experience not only smooth and efficient, but also a genuinely positive and enjoyable one.

Tom McCullough

Founder and managing director

Newcastle Physio Solutions was founded by Tom McCullough.

Tom is a pharmacist and has spent many years working with patients who rely on medication to manage pain. While medicines can play an important role, Tom has seen first-hand how many people end up managing pain with tablets without ever addressing the underlying cause.

This experience led Tom to create Newcastle Physio Solutions with a different philosophy.

The clinic focuses on helping people understand what is really causing their pain and providing a clear plan to resolve it — rather than simply managing symptoms.

Tom oversees the strategic development of the clinic and works closely with the physiotherapy and management team to ensure patients receive a professional, supportive and well organised experience from their very first visit.

Tom's aim is to ensure every patient receives clear answers, a personalised recovery plan and the support they need to return to an active life.

Enya Dupree

Marketing Apprentice

Why choose us?

At Newcastle Physio Solutions we believe that aches and pains shouldn’t simply be accepted as part of getting older.

Many people come to us feeling frustrated because pain has started to limit the things they enjoy — whether that’s walking, exercising, playing sport or simply staying active day to day.

Our goal is to help people understand what is really causing their pain and give them a clear plan to overcome it.

We focus on helping patients move with confidence again, regain their independence and get back to doing the activities that matter most to them.

For us, success isn’t just short-term pain relief — it’s helping people stay active and avoid the cycle of ongoing aches, flare-ups and painkillers.

We know how frustrating it can be when pain begins to control what you can and cannot do. Our aim is to help you take that control back.

We commonly help people who:

• Are over 40 and tired of living with aches and pains
• Want to stay active and independent
• Want to reduce their reliance on painkillers
• Want clear answers about what is causing their pain

• Want to be able to play with their children and Grandchildren

Ready To Find Out What’s Causing Your Pain?

The first step is a 60-minute one-to-one assessment where we identify the cause of your pain and create a personalised plan to help you move comfortably again.

You’ll leave the session with clear answers and a practical plan for the next steps.
